Our ethical shop directory is ten years in the making. It was born of our founder’s desire to connect conscious consumers with sustainable alternatives to conventional shopping destinations that fit with their lifestyle. After connecting with hundreds of brands over the last several years, we’ve compiled them into a single place to shop ethically and sustainably, and we continually update it to ensure we’re only linking to those brands, small businesses, and social enterprises actively offering fashion, home, children’s, and lifestyle products to those in the US and around the world.
We want you to know that our idea of sustainable shopping is pretty inclusive. It’s curated, yes, but when we say sustainable we use it as an umbrella term for both environmental + social consciousness. Many ethical shopping blogs lean toward one or the other, and we feel very strongly that being kind to the planet and its people should go hand-in-hand (groundbreaking!). So we try our hardest to make sure we feel really good about every shop included here, on both fronts. Even so, we aren’t able to review each of those brand’s products (every once in a while we are gifted some in exchange for photos or a review, but we don’t review all products in-person, and we don’t accept what we can’t use) so we encourage you to ask them questions about materials, sources, and makers.
This guide is a free resource to eco club readers and we don’t charge brands to be included (although we use affiliate links when we are able to, as every penny helps keep this site running!). When possible, we love to collaborate with the brands featured here! Check out our blog and Instagram to see how we’ve partnered with some of them to bring you sustainable living ideas and inspiration. Want to shop our favorite products directly?
