Awamaki Peru

Based in the US and Peru, Awamaki believes that cultural sustainability is led by and rooted in community. Formed in 2009 and fair trade since 2014, Awamaki works with women-led cooperatives dedicated to preserving the craft of Quechua textiles while building financial independence for women. What began as work with a cooperative of ten women weavers from the Andes led to a social enterprise dedicated to heritage crafts and sustainable tourism.

In addition to offering handcrafted products such as women’s bags and accessories, home textiles, and gifts, Awamaki co-creates change with grassroots social programs and authentic travel experiences that connect visitors to the Sacred Valley and Quechua communities.

At Awamaki, you can find authentic fair trade gift ideas and lifestyle products like woven blankets, handbags, knit hats and scarves, and handknitted baby toys. Awamaki is a 501c3 non-profit.
