We are so excited to present you our annual guide, updated for 2025, featuring 100+ websites to shop small for ethical and sustainable gift ideas this season + beyond! All shops are #ecoclubapproved, meaning they are independently owned, support ethical production or handmade techniques, and practice sustainability. Of course, sustainability is a spectrum, this list contains both zero waste brands and those who are passionate about sustainability but still have a ways to go—and with your support can get there. This post has been updated for the 2025 gifting season to omit any shops no longer operating (an unfortunate fact for smaller businesses is that there’s a lot of turnover) and include those we’ve found and loved this year.

Choosing ethical and sustainable practices is a huge investment for small shops, and it can be a real risk for those with already tight margins. Slow production also means sourcing materials and creating in lower quantities, which can increase costs as well. We know this now more than ever since we opened our own online boutique, wallflower. No one has it all figured out.
BTW: We’ve added our favorite brands to this list regardless of whether they’re participating in Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Fair Tuesday sales etc. Those that do offer a sale this time of year are often operating at a loss. One day to support them (and most times get a discount too) is to sign up for their newsletter. Even if there isn’t a major sale, that little sign-up discount can go along way if you’re on a budget!
